Why Create a Default Category Template?

The Category template allows you to assign an eBay category to all the products when imported from your Shopify store to the app. It will enable you to list your products on eBay Marketplace. Creating a category template keeps you from reentering the same data over and over again.

Also, you need a category template because of the following reasons:

• Just like other marketplaces, eBay makes it mandatory to use a category in order to successfully list your products on eBay.
• Default Category templates help you with increasing the visibility of the products by differentiating the products as per the assigned categories.
• Creating a category template helps you in uploading a specific product type assigned to the given default category template when listing them on eBay using the Mass Action from the Product Section. However, you can assign a different category to your products at a later stage once you’ve onboarded the app before listing them on eBay. For instance, when you assign a default category “Handbag” to the handbag collection. You can upload all the items assigned under the given category on eBay at once.

Creating a Default Category requires the following:

Template Name: We provide flexibility to let you assign the desired name to the templates.

Primary Category Mapping: We have listed all the available eBay categories for you to assign to your products. You can assign categories up to 6 levels to be very specific about your product category.

If a category, assigned by you to any product has attributes, you can map them to Shopify attributes through our app.

Additional Information: eBay recommends sellers to provide all the relevant details about his product such as ISBN, UPC, EAN, etc.

Attribute Mapping

Required Attributes: Product attributes define the important and relevant facts about a product. Attributes include things such as Brand, MPN, size type, size, color, and style.

The app maps your eBay required attributes with Shopify attributes by default (automapping). For instance: Brand with vendor and MPN with SKU.

You can choose the attribute value suitable for your products from the recommendations (as available on eBay) as well.

• Product Condition: The seller can choose from the dropdown to tell about his product condition.
• Variation Image: If you want to send variation images then please select the attribute which you want to use for variation images.
